How it compares

Four ways to handle NZ business tax

Most businesses pick one of four approaches. Here is what each really costs, who files at the end of it, and — the part comparison pages usually leave out — when SaaSy Tax is the wrong answer.

When to choose something else

No tool suits every business, and pretending otherwise wastes your time and ours.

You want somebody else to file your returns

Choose an all-in-one platform with accountants included, or keep your accountant. SaaSy Tax prepares the figures and stops there — filing is your signature, deliberately.

You run payroll, or need FBT, dividends or imputation credits

These are out of scope here. You want a full accounting suite and an accountant, with SaaSy Tax alongside at most.

You want bank transactions to arrive automatically

There is no bank feed, by choice — no bank credentials are ever asked for. If a live feed matters more than that, a platform with bank linking will suit you better.

Your business is inventory-heavy or multi-currency

A full accounting suite is the right tool. This is built for service businesses, trades and online sellers with straightforward books.

Where SaaSy Tax is hard to beat

Your bank login is never asked for, and no one holds your money.
Every figure links to the IRD rule behind it, so you can check the working.
A flat monthly price that does not rise when you have a good year.
The tax position is current every week, not reconstructed in April.
Read-only access for your accountant, free, on the Premium plan.
